This bacon makes a perfect addition to your food storage program and it is great for every day use. Take some with you when you go camping, hiking or hunting - keep a case in the boat, RV, cabin or anywhere that you may need to prepare a meal but don’t have refrigeration!! The guaranteed minimum shelf life is 10 years from the date of production. To find the production date, look for the date code on the bottom of a can. There should be a code similar to this one below: A0217 21332 All you need to look at is the top set of numbers (A0217) - that is the date code in Julian format. So in the example above, it was made on the 217th day of 2020, which was August 4th. "A" stands for the product code (bacon), "0217" is the date code. First digit stands for the year "0" for 2020, and "217" for the day of the year (217th day). For example, 9217 would mean 217th day of 2019, 8217 would mean 217th day of 2018, etc. Note: Since it is a long-term storage, the shelf life will depend on the conditions under which you store the food.
