This NIGHTMARE ALLEY PRESSBOOK was produced by 20th Century Fox for the original 1947 release starring Tyrone Power, Joan Blondell and Coleen Gray.  This Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook contains background articles on the filming of Nightmare Alley, many versions of advertising for newspapers and magazines, examples for tie-ins with the Movie and samples of various displays such as the One Sheet, Three Sheet and 24 Sheet Movie Poster for theater owners to order.
NIGHTMARE ALLEY is a Classic Film Noir starring Tyrone Power as Stanton "Stan” Carlisle, and follows his rise from carnival barker to a successful mind reading act performing as “The Great Stanton” in expensive nightclubs, to his downfall as an acoholic reduced to playing a geek eating live chickens in a sideshow.
This NIGHTMARE ALLEY PRESSBOOK is on glossy stock and has 8 pages featuring stories on Tyrone Power, Joan Blondell and Collen Gray.  There’s also two ad supplements, one newsprint supplement is 16 pages and titled “NIGHTMARE ALLEY” AD CAMPAIGN, and the other is 2 pages printed on glossy stock, which is folded, titled POWERFUL NEW ADS FOR “NIGHTMARE ALLEY.”  Both contain many different variations and approaches to promoting Nightmare Alley.
The Pressbook and ad supplements are in Near Mint condition, complete with no cut-outs, tears, rips or stains. The Nightmare Alley 8 Page Pressbook and 16 Page Pressbook have never been folded.  The 2 page supplement has one fold. Many times theater owners clipped out ads from the Pressbooks to use to promote a Movie. So it can be difficult to find a complete Pressbook.  In addition, the large 10 3/4” x 15 1/2" fragile format of this Pressbook makes it more even difficult to find in nice shape and t’s also rare to find unfolded. The Nightmare Alley Pressbook rarely turns up for sale in any condition. So if you’re a fan of Film Noir, Tyrone Power, Joan Blondell or Coleen Gray this is a great piece of film history to own.
