Description
Selling a collection of vintage to antique rings, some examples in the last photo. Many more coming soon - thanks for stopping by! : )ABOUT:
One of my favs in my store right now - absolutely stunning and unique French 18k white gold aquamarine ring. The size, shape, color and sparkle of the aquamarine is fantastic - a pale icy blue color in a larger size with a beautiful marquise cut that shoots reflections of light. Very glamorous - if only I were a glamorous person, I'd love to keep it in my personal collection, but alas...
; )
For added drama, the large stone is mounted by 32 long prongs, making the mount stand tall, about 7mm off the finger. This would be a very unique engagement ring, or a beautiful statement ring, right hand ring or gift. It glitters almost like a diamond but with the lovely tint of pale blue coloring.
Aquamarine tested accurately on my Presidium Gem Tester.
HALLMARKS:
I purchased this piece in France, as such it is hallmarked with their eagle hallmark for 18k gold on the outside back of the band as is the custom there. There is also a goldsmith hallmark on the outside of the band but I could not identify it. It seems sizable to at least some extent (perhaps check with your local jeweler), but I would definitely try to preserve the eagle hallmark on the back of the shank if at all possible.
I am not sure when this piece was made, it seems like it was hardly worn so I don't think it is very old at all, but it is pre-owned. It may have some age to it but just was only taken out for special occasions.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Currently a size 6 3/4, almost to size 7 but not quite. The aquamarine is about 16mm by 8mm. Because of the mount, I can't get an exact measurement on the depth of the stone, but trying to eye it and using a carat calculator, I estimate the stone to be about 3 carats. I am not a gemologist so that is my disclaimer : ) but those are the best measurements I could get.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition but this seem in better than most condition. The stone even under magnification seems to have not a single nick. No chips or cracks, I don't even see surface wear. It is secure in the setting. A few of the prongs aren't perfectly spaced from the next so please look for that in photos. Some surface wear and scratches to the gold from wear over the years and the back of the band is a little bit warmer gold from wear to the white gold. Still presents so beautifully but due to age - please note this is not a mint condition item.
Described to the best of my ability and the photos are part of the description. Feel free to ask any questions or I can send additional photos.
Antique box not included, will come in a new ring box. Insurance and signature confirmation upon delivery at my cost.
Thanks so much for looking at my store!
